Parenting & Life Skills Education

We aren't born knowing how to relate to others and babies don't come equipped with a how-to manual. Learning these skills is a life-long process. No matter what stage of life you're in, our classes can help you learn effective ways to protect your mental health and wellness!

Classes Offered

Ages and Stages:
child development, communication, and discipline

Anger Workout:
reduce conflict and communicate better

Kids' Anger
(for grades 1 - 5) parents must attend with their child(ren), payment is required only for the child

As We Grow:
examine how you grew up

Blended Families:
combining families: its joys and stresses

Couples Communication:
communicate more effectively with your partner

Grief and Loss:
learn the five stages of grief and how to support ourselves and others

Help! There's a Teenager Living in my House:
special issues in parenting adolescents

Holiday Blues:
deal with the stresses and emotions of the holidays

Single Parenting:
helpful suggestions for parent and child

Three Cousins:
stress, anger and depression

Transitions and Stress:
coping with stress and life's changes

Cost:
The cost for each class is based on a sliding fee scale, dependent upon your income and household size, with a minimum charge of $15 per person or $25 per couple (or family member). Ask for specific information when you call to register.

All classes start at
6:00 pm and dismiss between 7:30 and 8:00 pm.
